Qualifications

• ICC Certified Building Official (CBO) is required; additional ICC certifications (Plans Examiner, Building Inspector) are highly desirable.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in building inspection, code enforcement, or construction management is necessary.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills are a must.
• Strong analytical skills to solve complex issues related to building codes under pressure are essential.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise building inspectors and manage inspection programs for efficiency and compliance.
• Serve as the subject matter expert to support the sales team with technical insights.
• Conduct client visits to address complex or escalated projects personally.
• Administer and enforce building codes, safety regulations, and accessibility standards at various levels of government.
• Oversee the issuance of building permits, plan approvals, and occupancy certificates, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Interpret complex codes and provide expert guidance to architects, engineers, contractors, and property owners throughout the building process.
• Collaborate with various departments including fire, planning, zoning, and public works to ensure coordinated code enforcement efforts.
