About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Budget Analyst (NH-0560-03) to work at the 412 Test Wing, 412th Mission Support Group, 412th Logistics Readiness Squadron (412 LRS/LGR) at Edwards AFB, in Edwards, CA

The mission of the 412 LRS is Warfighters delivering global logistics support for The Center of the Aerospace Testing Universe (TCOTATU). Serve as the squadron's Resource Advisor, performing a variety of budgetary functions involving the formulation, execution, and analysis of budgets for substantive programs and logistics activities.

Typical 2026 salary range: $104,349 - $161,313/per year (includes locality)

Desired Skills:

- Knowledge of automated data processing concepts and systems capabilities to accomplish budget/funds execution tasks.

- Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze data to prepare budget estimates, develop alternatives, and make recommendations to resolve budget/funding problems.

- Ability to communicate effectively to justify, defend, present, and/or advise on budgetary processes/actions.

Major Duties:

- Performs budget formulation work involving prep of detailed analysis of annual and/or multi-yr budget estimates for assigned squadrons and programs into a consolidated budget request.

- Contributes as a resource management team member & assembles and/or develops background data, info, & documentation to support required program budgets. Researches, compiles, & summarizes data involving obligations, expenses, narrative info, & quantitative budgetary data for use in preparing budget estimates.

- Performs budget exec/admin work involving monitoring of obligations incurred & actual expenditures of a budget w/different sources/types of funding such as direct & reimbursable annual, multi-yr, & no-yr appropriations apportionment; allotments; transfer of funds from other agencies; revenue from industrially funded ops & refunds.

- Provides advice/insight/assistance/guidance on budgeting & related information. Devises & recommends adoption of procedures to implement budgetary processes/policies/instructions/regulations/fiscal law issued by MAJCOM, AF, & GAO.

- Performs assigned budget execution tasks to meet the needs of squadron/flights at all operational levels. Develops/maintains personal & organizational interactions that enhance customer relations & actively fosters/promotes rapport with customers.

- Conducts analyses/reviews/studies of budget related info. Reviews/assesses long-term effects of budget guidelines, such as new/revised legislation/policy, Fin Plan, POM, etc., on assigned programs. Analyzes/interprets impact of new policy/systems/legislation on installation's budget & effectively accomplishes projects/programs/goals within established resource guidelines.

- Uses automated budgetary, accounting & finance & standard operating software/systems & computer generated products in accomplishing budgeting assignments.

Financial Statement Position

Knowledge of commonly used budgetary methods, practices, processes, procedures, regulations, precedents, policies and other guidelines.

Knowledge of sources of factual information about and related to processes of budgeting, such as that found in accounting reports, payroll records, work reports, or inventory and supply data.
