As a Sales Executive within our Financial Advisor Services (FAS) Broker-Dealer Channel, you will play an important role in expanding Vanguard's reach and deepening relationships with financial professionals across the broker-dealer marketplace. By combining consultative sales, industry expertise, and a client-first mindset, you will help advisors connect investors with long-term investment solutions that align with their goals.

You will work across a blend of virtual and in-person interactions, building relationships with both prospective and existing clients while representing Vanguard's values, insights, and investment capabilities.

About the Team

The Broker-Dealer Channel is responsible for building and growing relationships across the broker-dealer marketplace, including wirehouses, national and regional firms, and independent broker-dealers.

This role is dedicated to Vanguard's Independent and Regional Broker-Dealer segment and supports relationships across key firms.

What You'll Do
  • Develop new relationships and expand existing partnerships with distributors, advisors, and other intermediaries within the Broker-Dealer channel.
  • Achieve sales and retention goals while operating in accordance with Vanguard's Code of Ethics.
  • Create and execute strategic sales plans to identify new business opportunities and maximize the value of Vanguard's products and services.
  • Drive business results by increasing awareness of Vanguard investments, solutions, and resources through targeted outreach and relationship-building activities.
  • Engage clients and prospects through a combination of virtual meetings, phone conversations, face-to-face meetings, educational events, direct marketing efforts, and industry conferences.
  • Gain a deep understanding of intermediary businesses, investment philosophies, and client needs to deliver relevant insights and solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted resource by educating clients on Vanguard's investment offerings and helping align solutions with business objectives.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of capital markets, investment management, and industry trends to provide meaningful perspectives and support client decision-making.
  • Deliver presentations and represent Vanguard at client seminars, educational programs, and industry events.
  • Use technology to create personalized and effective client experiences across both metro and non-metro markets.
  • Partner closely with Field Sales and Key Account Sales colleagues to support team objectives and client outcomes.
  • Prioritize opportunities and determine the most effective method of engagement, balancing virtual and in-person interactions based on client needs and business goals.
  • Monitor key business drivers and use data and insights to inform client engagement strategies.
  • Participate in special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

What We're Looking For
  • Five years of related professional experience, including at least three years of sales experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • Progress toward a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of capital markets, investment products, and the investment management industry.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage priorities, work independently, and collaborate across teams.
  • Commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience and building lasting professional relationships.

Special Factors
  • Client engagement is conducted primarily through electronic and telephone communication (approximately 75%), with in-person meetings and field sales activities making up approximately 25% of the role.
  • The role supports clients and prospects across metro and non-metro geographic territories.
  • Attendance at client meetings, conferences, seminars, and industry events is required.
  • Requires applicable regulatory licenses and/or registrations (for example, FINRA, state, or other regulatory requirements).
