The Opportunity:Tetra Tech is adding a Bridge Engineer, PE to our Transportation team.
Essential Functions :- Design bridges, culverts and retaining walls
- Plan production including 3D Modeling and CADD
- Load rating analysis of bridges
- Utilize structural design software
- Prepare structural evaluation studies, structure-type studies, and similar reports
- Computation of estimated quantities, plan notes, and development of cost estimates
- Site visits to support the design process
- Supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with state and local officials and other outside agencies and sub-consultants
- Participate in business development efforts and meet with clients
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) License, required
- 5+ years of engineering experience, which must include bridge design and plan production
- Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
- Familiarity with AASHTO bridge design standards
- Experience with computer software such as OpenRoads, AutoCAD, OpenBridge Designer, AASHTOWare BrR
- Experience as Bridge Inspection Team Leader is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- This position could require periodic travel, approximately 15% or more
