Staff Bridge Engineer to join our team in
Lake Charles, LA as part of our Mobility Business Area.
Role DescriptionYou will deliver "best in class" technical and innovative solutions to our clients in the design, delivery, and management of critical structural resources for our State, municipal and design-build clients. In this position, you will be co-located in the project office for a major design-build infrastructure project, interfacing with the design and contractor teams.
Role Accountabilities- Co-location at the project office with frequent visits to the construction site
- Participate in project progress meetings
- Collaborate with other design disciplines
- Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve RFI's and NCR's
- Prepare reports for senior engineer review
- Track and meet schedule requirements for deliverables
Required Qualifications- 5 or more years of professional work experience in transportation infrastructure
- Experience in the design of concrete and steel bridge structures
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- EI/EIT Certification
- Experience with AASHTO design codes
- Proficiency with relevant bridge design software including Bentley/LEAP/Open Bridge Designer, MathCAD, Microsoft Office products, and MicroStation.
- Effective problem solving skills
- Ability to take initiative and make decisions
- Ability to work with little direct oversight
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively convey information to technical and non-technical individuals.
Key Skills and AttributesPreferred Qualifications & Skills- Experience in construction or performing engineering services for contractors
- Experience with Procore or other document management platforms
- Professional Engineer Certification
- MS Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Experience with LADOTD bridge policies

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
