We are expanding in the Portland/Wilsonville, OR market and are seeking a Branch Manager to lead and grow Certerra's presence across Portland and Wilsonville. This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for overseeing branch operations, developing high-performing teams, strengthening client relationships, and driving strategic growth.

Duties: The Branch Manager would provide leadership across a diverse range of residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects throughout the South Sound region. This role is responsible for day-to-day operations, financial performance, team development, client engagement, and market expansion with a support network to match.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of technical, operational, and project management staff
- Oversee branch financial performance, including revenue, profitability, WIP/AR management, budgeting, and forecasting
- Ensure safe, high-quality project delivery in compliance with company standards, approved plans, and applicable codes
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to support efficient operations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with public agencies, contractors, developers, and private-sector clients
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand services and grow backlog in the Tacoma market
- Support proposal development, pricing strategy, scopes of work, and client communications
- Collaborate with leadership across Certerra offices to leverage technical expertise, share resources, and promote cross-selling
- Uphold a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to regulatory and certification requirements
- Track operational metrics and prepare branch performance reports
- Foster a culture of accountability, professional development, and continuous improvement
Education/Qualifications: - Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a degree in engineering, geology, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
- 8-10+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, special inspections, or related technical services
- 3-5+ years of leadership or management experience with demonstrated P&L responsibility
- Proven ability to manage personnel, oversee project execution, and coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated success in building client relationships and growing market presence
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven, with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically
Certifications/Licenses: - Preferred certifications include (examples - not all are required)
- Preferred qualifications include licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Oregon Building Officials Association (OBOA)
- Technical Director. Relevant ICC/OBOA certifications: including but not limited to Reinforced Concrete, Proprietary Anchors, Lateral Wood, Structural Masonry, and Structural Steel & Bolting are highly valued as technical knowledge and rare occurrence of meeting client needs.
- While certifications are not mandatory for the Branch Manager position, familiarity with technical inspection standards and regulatory requirements is essential for effective oversight.
