The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing branch operations and driving profitable growth through operational excellence, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration. This role requires a hands-on leader who can support strategic sales initiatives, develop and strengthen customer relationships, identify growth opportunities, and lead a high-performing operations team.
The successful candidate will partner closely with the centralized sales team to support new business development, customer retention, and the expansion of existing customer partnerships. In addition, they will oversee all branch operations, including customer service, equipment service, warehousing, inventory management, and overall operational performance to ensure an exceptional customer experience and strong business results.
ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development- Partner with the Alberta Market Manager and centralized sales and service teams to support branch sales, profitability, and growth objectives.
- Collaborate on the execution of sales and customer growth strategies that drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer retention.
- Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, customer visits, and relationship building, coordinating closely with the sales team to convert opportunities.
- Work closely with sales representatives to support customer growth initiatives, key account development, major opportunities, and contract negotiations.
- Monitor branch performance, customer activity, and market trends to identify growth opportunities and mitigate business risks.
- Build and strengthen relationships with key customers, suppliers, and industry partners to support long-term business growth.
- Act as the primary branch liaison for sales-related initiatives, ensuring operational alignment and exceptional execution in support of customer commitments.
Operations & Leadership- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to branch employees across Customer Service, Sales, Equipment Service, and Warehousing.
- Oversee all branch operations to ensure exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and employee engagement.
- Evaluate business performance and implement strategies to improve profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Establish and maintain operating standards related to inventory management, safety, service levels, cost control, and on-time delivery.
- Manage branch expenses, working capital, inventory performance, and overall financial results.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, Provincial, and Local employment, health and safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in sales, operations, distribution, or branch management.
- Demonstrated success in business development, account management, and revenue growth.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams while achieving operational and financial objectives.
- Experience managing customer relationships and identifying opportunities to grow share of wallet.
- Strong understanding of the distribution, janitorial, or supply chain industries.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented leader with a strong customer focus and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the market as required.
