Full Job Description
Job Title: Bomber Operational Lead
Location: Ellsworth AFB, SD / Dyess AFB, TX / Whiteman AFB, MO (depending on contract assignment)

Job Summary
The Bomber Operational Lead provides critical operational expertise and integration support for the B-21 Raider next-generation stealth bomber. This senior role serves as a key liaison between the host wing and Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command (HQ AFGSC). The position ensures seamless integration of all aspects of B-21 operations, training, compliance, and both conventional and nuclear mission readiness.
This is a high-visibility contractor position supporting the stand-up and operationalization of the Air Force's newest strategic bomber.
Key Responsibilities
Support the full integration of B-21 Raider operations between the host base and HQ AFGSC, including but not limited to:
  • Formal Training Unit (FTU) operations
  • Operations Squadron and Operations Support Squadron (OSS) functions
  • Simulator operations development and coordination
  • Facilitate integration and compliance with Technical Orders (TOs) and Department of the Air Force Instructions (DAFIs) across the host wing, HQ AFGSC, and external agencies as required.
  • Coordinate, implement, advise, and support Conventional and Nuclear operations and training requirements, systems, and timelines in accordance with Higher Headquarters directives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on bomber operational procedures, training pipelines, and mission readiness to ensure alignment with Air Force Global Strike Command priorities.

Desired Experience & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of qualified United States Air Force (USAF) bomber aircrew experience in the B-1B, B-2A, or B-52H.
  • Graduate of a Formal Instructor Course, Central Flight Instructor Course, or equivalent USAF Flight Instructor Course in any Major Weapon System (MWS).

Highly Desired Qualifications:
  • USAF Safety and/or Nuclear Surety experience.
  • Nuclear Bomber Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO) experience.
  • USAF aircraft maintenance experience (any platform).
  • Experience as a Personnel Reliability Program / Personnel Reliability Assurance Program (PRP/PRAP) Manager.
  • Component Command (or equivalent) or higher-level staff experience.

Required Security Clearance
Active Top Secret / SCI eligibility

Pay Range: $125,000 - $150,000 per hour
