Senior Commercial Chiller & Boiler Technician

Location: Fort Worth / Dallas, TX
Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Pay: $38.00-$52.00 per hour, based on experience and OEM certifications

Trade Management is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Chiller & Boiler Technician for the DFW area. This position is ideal for a highly skilled commercial HVAC professional with 8+ years of hands-on experience working with high-tonnage chillers, commercial boilers, central energy plants, hydronic systems, and complex commercial HVAC equipment.

We are looking for an experienced technician who can independently diagnose problems, perform major and minor repairs and overhauls, work with building automation systems, and provide strong technical support in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair commercial/industrial HVAC equipment
  • Perform minor and major teardowns and overhauls on centrifugal, screw, scroll, and absorption chillers
  • Service and repair low- and high-pressure steam and hot-water boilers
  • Troubleshoot burners, pumps, hydronic systems, and associated equipment
  • Perform refrigerant leak detection, recovery, evacuation, and charging
  • Analyze system performance and assist with optimization
  • Work with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, piping diagrams, and control systems
  • Perform chemical testing on closed loops and vibration analysis as required
  • Communicate equipment conditions, repairs, and recommendations to customers and facility personnel
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements, mechanical codes, EPA regulations, and manufacturer standards
Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8+ years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience, specifically working with chillers and boilers
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification - REQUIRED
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Experience with high-tonnage commercial/industrial cooling systems
  • Ability to read complex electrical schematics and piping diagrams
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and digital controls
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, access rooftops, and safely work in mechanical spaces
  • State Journeyman or Master HVAC/R license
  • OEM factory training/certifications from manufacturers such as Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, or Cleaver-Brooks
  • Experience with BACnet and/or Modbus
  • Experience with controls platforms such as Automated Logic, Tridium/Niagara, or Johnson Controls
Compensation & Benefits

$38.00-$52.00 per hour, depending on experience and OEM certifications.
