Chipton-Ross is seeking a Blankets & Monuments Shipside Support Engineer for a contract opportunity in San Antonio, TX.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Interiors Development team is looking for an individual with experience in aircraft shipside support and blankets design. This position requires proficiency in shipside support, blankets design and discrepancy disposition, and factory shipside support. Familiarity with Boeing processes, aerospace defense platforms, and VIP modifications is desired. Position will require flexibility with factory demands, including alternate shifts as needed to support the factory. Develops, integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. Develops, maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Leads performance, integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals. Assists with investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Duties may include (but are not limited to):
  • Provide Design and Shipside Engineering services for a military platform for insulation designs, aircraft monument designs, change orders, and drawing revisions in Catia, Enovia, and IVT.
  • Shipside Subject Matter Expert in Insulation Design, able to immediately contribute to the team's velocity of work products.
  • Work includes shipside support in an austere environment and includes climbing scaffolding and working inside a platform for shipside support, while modifications are in work.


REQUIRED EDUCATION

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

WORK HOURS

FULL TIME/VARIABLE SHIFT; All submitted candidates should be available to work 1st or 2nd Shift (1st: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM ; 2nd: 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM)
