Overview:

We are seeking a full-time Intermediate Biologist to join our team of professionals based in our Fort St. John or Prince George locations. The ideal candidate will have strong field skills and extensive expertise conducting environmental monitoring, field data collection, and preparing reports for a broad range of projects in a variety of market sectors and environmental disciplines.

This position involves a combination of office work and fieldwork, with travel expected for field assignments

Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities for an Intermediate Biologist will include, but are not limited to:
  • Supporting the preparation of environmental assessments and management plans in accordance with provincial and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Leading field crews on projects involving environmental data collection, environmental monitoring, fish and wildlife salvages, water sampling, nest sweeps, and vegetation surveys.
  • Preparing technical reports, proposals, monitoring summaries, and study designs.
  • Supervising, training, and mentoring junior biologists to support their technical and professional development.
  • Supporting project planning through scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination.
  • Contributing to business development efforts with the support of senior staff.

Qualifications:
  • BSc or MSc in Biology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional designation such as RPBio, PBiol, or PAg is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in environmental consulting or the natural resource sector combined with demonstrated project management experience.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations in BC to ensure legal compliance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop strategic solutions.
  • Strong background in environmental monitoring, erosion and sediment control, and site reclamation.
  • Ability to review and prepare professional reports, study designs, and to develop project proposals and quotes.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's licence, and experience operating 4x4 vehicles off-highway.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Compensation:
  • The pay range for this position is $36- $50 per hour; pay will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
