Full Job Description
Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated BI & Analytics Analyst to join our growing operational intelligence team. This role will help expand the use of data and analytics across our operations by developing scalable reporting, dashboards, and analytical solutions that improve visibility into operational performance and support better decision-making.

In this role, you will work extensively with Power BI, Databricks, and SQL to transform complex operational data into trusted, actionable information. Power BI is a key reporting and analytics platform today, while Databricks Dashboards and AI tools are an increasingly important part of our analytics ecosystem. You will help develop solutions across platforms and evaluate the appropriate technology based on business and analytical need.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills in Power BI, SQL, data modeling, and visualization with an understanding of how data can be used to improve operational performance. You should be comfortable working directly with operations and stakeholders to understand requirements, define meaningful metrics, and deliver intuitive analytical solutions.

What You'll Do
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models supporting operational controls and performance.
  • Design and develop Databricks Dashboards and Databricks SQL-based analytical solutions.
  • Evaluate reporting and analytics use cases to determine when Power BI, Databricks Dashboards, or a combination of platforms provides the most effective solution.
  • Stay current with evolving Databricks visualization and dashboard capabilities and help identify opportunities to expand their use across operations.
  • Partner with operations and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate business questions into analytical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and standardized reporting definitions.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to analyze operational data and develop reusable analytical datasets.
  • Develop DAX measures, calculated columns, and dimensional data models following Power BI best practices.
  • Perform exploratory analysis to identify trends, patterns, exceptions, and opportunities to improve operational performance.
  • Validate data and investigate discrepancies to ensure reports and metrics are accurate, consistent, and trusted.
  • Work with data engineers and other technical resources to define requirements for curated datasets and data products needed by operations.
  • Optimize Power BI semantic models, reports, Databricks SQL queries, and dashboards for performance, usability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Help establish reporting standards, documentation, governance, and reusable analytics practices across operations.
  • Support operations personnel in effectively using analytics products and self-service reporting capabilities.
  • Use GitHub for source control, versioning, and collaboration where applicable.

What We're Looking For
  • 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, operations analytics, reporting, or a related role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, including joins, CTEs, aggregations, window functions, and complex analytical queries.
  • Strong experience designing and developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
  • Strong knowledge of DAX and dimensional data modeling concepts, including star schemas and fact/dimension relationships.
  • Experience with Databricks, including Databricks SQL and dashboard development.
  • Ability and willingness to develop expertise in evolving Databricks dashboarding and visualization capabilities.
  • Experience analyzing large and complex datasets and translating results into actionable insights.
  • Strong understanding of data visualization principles and dashboard usability.
  • Familiarity with Python, PySpark, or SparkSQL for data analysis and transformation is preferred.
  • Understanding of operational controls and construction operations data is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with cost, schedule, productivity, forecasting, labor, equipment, or other operational-performance data is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GitHub or similar version-control platforms is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work directly with operations and business stakeholders and translate business needs into scalable analytical solutions.
