Full Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) in our Behavioral Health Medical Clinic will provide comprehensive nursing care for scheduled and unscheduled patients receiving mental health services in a medical clinic environment. This role supports patient well-being by delivering clinical interventions, education and care coordination for both behavioral health conditions and co-occurring medical needs. The RN ensures safe, evidence-based practices while fostering a therapeutic, supportive and respectful environment for all patients. Will provide a minimum of 1,248 patient service hours annually.

Workweek is defined within the Clinic as Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., no weekends, no holidays or on-call schedule is applicable. Rate is $42.00 hourly (ASN), $45.00 hourly (BSN).

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Direct Patient Care
    • Assess, triage and manage and patients presenting with behavioral health concerns or related medical needs or upon hospital discharge.
    • Administer prescribed medications, including psychotropic injections and other ordered treatments, in accordance with established protocols.
    • Accurately calculate and document vital signs, height, weight and Body Mass Index (BMI) during patient visits.
    • Monitor and document patient responses to medications and treatments, reporting concerns promptly to the provider.
    • Will complete other related duties pertinent to client care to include assessment, re-assessment and outcome services.
  • Patient Education & Support
    • Will collaborate with prescribers or pharmacist on site as needed to ensure education of patients and families regarding prescribed medications, potential side effects and adherence strategies.
    • Counsel patients on management of comorbidities (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, obesity) and their relationship to behavioral health conditions.
    • Offer information on healthy lifestyle practices, preventive care and available support resources.
  • Care Coordination
    • Collaborate with behavioral health providers, medical providers and other interdisciplinary members or referral sources to ensure continuity of care.
    • Facilitate referrals to appropriate specialists, social services or other resources when indicated.
    • Participate in case conferences and team meetings as needed to review and update patient care plans.
  • Clinical Documentation
    • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) per company standards.
    • Record all assessments, interventions and patient education in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
    • Track and monitor patient follow-up needs and ensure scheduled services are completed.
  • Compliance & Safety
    • Adhere to infection control and safety policies in the handling of medications, sharps and biohazard materials.
    • Follow all state, federal and organizational regulations related to nursing practice, patient rights and confidentiality (HIPAA).
    • Maintain current knowledge of behavioral health medications, best practices and emerging treatment modalities.

Compensation: ASN @ $42.00/hour, BSN @ $45.00/hour.

As a vital member of our team, you'll provide1,248 patient service hours annually (104/month) through:
Medication Management - Assess mental health status and oversee treatment plans
Vitals & Monitoring - Track and assess patient health
Treatment Coordination - Connect patients with essential care resources
Patient Education - Support wellness strategies for both physical and mental health
What You Need to Join Us:
Nursing Degree - ASN required, BSN preferred
Active Ohio RN License - Must be in good standing
Experience - At least one year in clinical or psychiatric settings preferred
Crisis Intervention Skills - A plus!
Valid Ohio Driver's License - Must have fewer than 4 points on record
