Job DescriptionPosition Description:Barrick is seeking a
Risk & Assurance Manager to lead Fatal Risk Management and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) programs across operations. The Risk & Assurance Manager leads the implementation, governance, and assurance of Fatal Risk Management across Nevada Gold Mines and supports the effective application of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework at site level. Working closely with Operations Managers, site leadership teams, Fatal Risk Champions, Control Owners, enterprise risk owners, and Health & Safety personnel, the role ensures fatal risk standards are translated into practical operating requirements and consistently embedded in day-to-day work, while material enterprise risks are identified, owned, monitored, and appropriately escalated.
Responsibilities:- Lead implementation and continuous improvement of Fatal Risk Standards and Critical Control Management programs.
- Establish governance for Fatal Risk Champions and Critical Control Owners, ensuring clear accountability and ownership.
- Develop and manage assurance programs, critical control verification processes, and risk-based audits.
- Monitor risk performance, analyze trends, and provide reporting and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Conduct field assurance activities and coach leaders on risk management, control effectiveness, and operational compliance.
- Support site-level Enterprise Risk Management processes, including risk reviews, risk registers, and treatment plans.
- Drive continuous improvement and integration of risk management practices across operational and support functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety, Mining, Engineering, Risk Management, Business, or a related field.
- Significant experience in mining, heavy industry, or other high-risk operational environments.
- Strong background in Fatal Risk Management, Critical Control Management, operational assurance, auditing, or enterprise risk management.
- Proven ability to influence operational leaders and drive accountability without direct authority.
- Experience developing risk dashboards, performance metrics, governance processes, and assurance frameworks
