Full Job Description
Your New Role...

Background Painter is responsible for painting backgrounds, and any other background-related art that the production may require, ensuring style and quality of show are met.

Your Role Accountabilities...
  • Draw, paint or create backgrounds manually, by computer or both for animated production.
  • Design backgrounds for characters and objects to live in and move through in a natural manner.
  • Meet with creative supervisor(s) to ensure color needs of show are fulfilled. 4. Complete all color work within assigned deadlines.
  • Communicate progress of work to appropriate production staff.
  • Ensure all artwork is properly backed up and stored appropriately.


Qualifications & Experience...

Work Experience
  • Previous work experience as a Background painter on a television and/or feature animated production.


Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
  • Trade school degree or certification; Bachelor's degree in animation; or equivalent work experience.


Knowledge/Skills
  • Strong knowledge of color theory and lighting.


Preferred...
  • Excellent artistic, technical, and creative skills.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive, upbeat and professional attitude.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines.

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $94,553.00 - $175,598.00 salary per year.
