Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer to support the engineering, deployment, administration, and optimization of large-scale Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments. This role is focused on hands-on engineering, platform scalability, automation, operational stability, and end-user experience within an enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure, Windows desktop virtualization, and AVD engineering, along with the ability to troubleshoot and support complex virtual desktop infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, deploy, and support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments to meet business and operational requirements.
  • Configure and manage AVD host pools, session hosts, application groups, and workspaces.
  • Perform platform administration activities including scaling, host maintenance, monitoring, and service health management.
  • Support gold image creation and maintenance using existing image pipelines and Shared Image Gallery.
  • Configure and troubleshoot FSLogix profile containers, including storage access and performance-related issues.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity using Azure monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Identify opportunities for platform improvements, performance optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain technical standards, documentation, and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with architects, senior engineers, networking, security, endpoint management, and service desk teams.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of complex virtualization and infrastructure issues.
  • Support automation initiatives using PowerShell, Terraform, or similar technologies.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting Windows desktop and virtualization platforms.
  • Hands-on engineering experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or comparable virtual desktop technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Azure fundamentals, including compute, networking, and storage services.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting FSLogix profile management.
  • Experience with automation tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, or similar technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments with high availability and scalability requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional technical teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and/or Group Policy administration.
  • Familiarity with Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, and MFA concepts.
  • Experience working within enterprise or highly regulated environments.
  • Experience supporting virtualization platform migrations or modernization initiatives.
