AWS Technical / Cloud Architect with Payments Experience
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
Java, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Rest API, microservices, Kafka, Cloud, Kubernetes.
Agile concepts, CI/CD with Payments exposer like ISO, Fed wire, Swift, MT message Knowledge
10+ years experience
Payments Experience:
Payment domain expertise is preferred and can significantly enhance opportunities across Global Transaction Services, and Payments Modernization programs.
• Experience with Wire, ACH, and Real-Time Payments
• Knowledge of ISO 20022 messaging standards
• Understanding of payment initiation, processing, settlement, reconciliation, and exception management
• Experience with high-volume and mission-critical transaction-processing platforms
• Exposure to payment modernization and cloud-transformation initiatives
• Knowledge of event-driven payment-processing architectures
• Understanding of banking security, regulatory, resiliency, and compliance requirements
Roles & Responsibilities
• 10+ years of experience in AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and CloudWatch, Java, Sprint boot, Microservices, Rest API, Kafka.
• Experiences working with payments rails/products, such as FedWire, Chips, TCH, SEPA, Wires, ACH, Real Time Payments, SWIFT, ISO etc.
• Hands-on experience with AI models and tools, such as Copilot, Claude, etc a plus
• Involved in Enterprise cloud architecture and solution design
• Hands on in Java 25 and Spring Boot 4.1+,Angular 22, Python/Node.js
• Microservices and event-driven architecture, Oracle Database and cloud database migration,JBoss Application Server
• OpenShift Platform and legacy VM-based deployments, Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and EKS
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CloudFormation
• CI/CD using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
• REST APIs and enterprise integration patterns
• Kafka, MQ, and enterprise messaging platforms
• AWS security, IAM, VPC, networking, encryption, secrets management, and compliance
• Monitoring and observability using CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana
• Application modernization and cloud migration patterns
• Cloud performance, scalability, resiliency, disaster recovery, and cost optimization
• DevSecOps, platform engineering, and automated deployment practices
• Lead the discovery and assessment of applications deployed across legacy V M-based infrastructure and OpenShift environments.
• Analyze the application inventory, current architecture, technology stack, infrastructure footprint, business criticality, non-functional requirements, and technical debt.
• Map application dependencies, data flows, interfaces, APIs, messaging platforms, and upstream and downstream integrations.
• Assess application, infrastructure, database, security, compliance, and operational readiness for migration to AWS.
• Categorize applications based on business criticality, cloud readiness, migration complexity, dependencies, risks, and modernization requirements.
• Evaluate legacy and OpenShift-based applications and recommend appropriate rehost, replatform, refactor, or re-architect migration strategies.
• Define target-state AWS architecture covering landing zone, networking, compute, containers, databases, integrations, security, observability, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Design cloud-native solutions using microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, containers, serverless technologies, and suitable AWS-managed services.
• Develop application modernization strategies, including application decomposition, API enablement, containerization, and migration from legacy technologies.
• Define Oracle database and data-migration strategies covering sequencing, validation, reconciliation, cutover, data integrity, and rollback requirements.
• Develop application migration waves, dependency-based sequencing, implementation roadmaps, milestones, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Establish cloud security, IAM, encryption, network security, governance, compliance controls, architecture guardrails, and risk-mitigation recommendations.
• Define DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, automated testing, security scanning, release management, monitoring, and platform-operations models.
• Prepare high-level estimates for assessment, migration, modernization, testing, deployment, transition, cloud costs, and resource requirements.
• Lead architecture reviews, technical design discussions, proposal development, executive presentations, stakeholder collaboration, and technical mentoring across onshore and offshore teams.
Salary Range- $110,000-$125,000 a year
