Full Job Description
The Associate VP, Strategy Advancement provides data-based strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities. Provides business intelligence and strategic planning support for business segments or the company at large. The Associate VP, Strategy Advancement requires a in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across segments and/or enterprise-wide.

The Associate Vice President (AVP), Strategy is responsible for leading enterprise and business-unit strategy development across two complementary healthcare businesses serving seniors and complex populations across Medicare, Medicaid, and Medicare Advantage markets.

The portfolio includes:

  • A national Medicare-certified home care organization, providing skilled home health andrelated in-home clinical services.

  • A risk-bearing convening and post-acute management organization overseeing managed spend through network strategy, utilization management, contract management, and value-based care operations across skilled nursing facilities (SNF), long-term acute care hospitals (LTACH), home health, and durable medical equipment (DME).

This role partners closely with executive leadership to define long-term strategic direction, drive enterprise growth initiatives, evaluate market opportunities, support payer/provider transformation, and improve performance across value-based and fee-for-service healthcare delivery models.

The AVP will serve as a senior strategic thought partner to business presidents and functional executives, balancing long-range planning with execution-oriented operational strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Strategy & Growth

  • Lead development and ongoing refinement of enterprise strategic plans across both business divisions.

  • Identify and evaluate growth opportunities including geographic expansion, service line expansion, payer partnerships, value-based care models, and adjacent healthcare capabilities.

  • Develop strategic frameworks and actionable roadmaps aligned to enterprise financial, clinical, and operational objectives.

  • Support executive leadership in annual strategic planning and multi-year growth forecasting processes.

  • Translate market trends, regulatory shifts, reimbursement changes, and competitive dynamics into actionable strategic recommendations.

Medicare Advantage & Value-Based Care Strategy

  • Drive strategic positioning related to Medicare Advantage, risk-based reimbursement, and post-acute care transformation.

  • Assess implications of CMS policy, utilization trends, Stars/quality programs, and payer economics on both operating divisions.

  • Develop strategies to optimize total cost of care, network performance, clinical utilization, and enterprise savings generation.

  • Partner with operations and clinical leadership to align strategic initiatives with value-based care objectives and member outcomes.

Corporate Development & Market Intelligence

  • Lead market assessments, competitive analyses, and industry intelligence efforts.

  • Evaluate merger, acquisition, partnership, joint venture, and strategic investment opportunities.

  • Develop executive-level business cases and financial models supporting enterprise investment decisions.

  • Monitor emerging industry trends including home-based care, payer-provider integration, post-acute consolidation, AI-enabled care management, and alternative payment models.

Strategic Execution & Transformation

  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, finance, clinical, network management, growth, technology, and actuarial leaders to operationalize strategic priorities.

  • Drive enterprise-level strategic initiatives from concept development through implementation oversight.

  • Establish strategic governance structures, milestones, KPIs, and executive reporting mechanisms.

  • Support transformation initiatives focused on scalability, operating efficiency, care model redesign, and margin improvement.

Executive & Board-Level Support

  • Prepare strategic presentations and materials for executive leadership, Board discussions, investor discussions, and enterprise governance forums.

  • Communicate complex strategic concepts clearly and concisely to senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Facilitate executive strategy sessions, offsites, and long-range planning discussions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor27s degree required

  • 82D12+ years of progressive experience in healthcare strategy, corporate development, management consulting, payer/provider strategy, or healthcare operations.

  • Deep knowledge of Medicare Advantage, Medicare fee-for-service, Medicaid, and value-based care models.

  • Experience in one or more of the following sectors:

    • Home Health

    • Post-Acute Care

    • Managed Care

    • Risk-Bearing Provider Organizations

    • Healthcare Services

    • Care Management

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and lead cross-functional strategic initiatives.

  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and executive communication skills.

  • Experience developing enterprise strategic plans in complex, matrixed healthcare organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master27s degree strongly preferred (MBA, MHA, MPH, or related field).

  • Experience supporting organizations with delegated risk, convening, utilization management, or post-acute network management responsibilities.

  • Familiarity with CMS reimbursement models, Stars programs, and post-acute regulatory frameworks.

  • Experience working in large national healthcare organizations or Fortune 500 healthcare environments.

  • Consulting background from a leading healthcare consulting firm or equivalent internal strategy function preferred.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$184,800 - $254,100 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
