What You Will Do:
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server databases, Snowflake environment, and other database platforms across the enterprise.
  • Manage and monitor database performance, tuning, and optimization to ensure high levels of availability and security.
  • Implement data integration and ETL processes to support data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Design, implement, and maintain disaster recovery and high availability solutions.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to design data models and schema structures.
  • Establish and enforce database standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Plan and execute regular database backups and ensure effective restore procedures.
  • Develop and maintain database security strategies, including user roles and permissions.
  • Conduct database capacity planning and storage management.
  • Support the data warehouse environment, ensuring data consistency, reliability, and performance.
  • Write and troubleshoot complex queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
  • Conduct regular database audits and system health checks.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging database technologies and industry trends.
  • Provide advanced support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
  • Mentor other team members and provide training and leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Relevant training such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or similar, are highly desirable.
  • 5+ years of extensive experience in database management, with a strong focus on SQL Server.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud data warehouse platforms, with a strong focus on Snowflake.
  • Strong expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in database backup and recovery plans and practices.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts, architecture, and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
  • Familiarity with cloud data warehouse solutions (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.) is preferred
  • Solid understanding of database security principles, including access controls and encryption.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Self-motivated, with a passion for continuous learning and personal development.
  • Experience in scripting and automation using tools like PowerShell or Python is a plus.
