About the RoleAmeriCU Credit Union is seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to join our Lending team as
Assistant Vice President (AVP), Mortgage Underwriting & Secondary Execution. In this role, you'll lead mortgage underwriting, secondary market operations, and fulfillment teams while driving efficiency, compliance, and exceptional member service.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for optimizing mortgage operations, managing risk, and supporting the growth of our residential lending portfolio.
What You'll Do - Assistant Vice President (AVP), Mortgage Underwriting & Secondary ExecutionLeadership & Team Development- Lead, mentor, and develop mortgage underwriting, fulfillment, and secondary market teams
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative culture aligned with AmeriCU's values
- Provide coaching, performance management, and ongoing professional development
Mortgage Operations & Strategy - Oversee end-to-end mortgage operations, including underwriting, funding, and loan delivery
- Manage mortgage pipeline to ensure timely rate locks, closings, and investor delivery
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and service quality
- Partner with leadership on product development, pricing strategies, and growth initiatives
Secondary Market & Risk Management - Manage interest rate risk for portfolio and secondary market loans
- Ensure competitive pricing while optimizing profitability
- Oversee vendor, broker, and correspondent relationships to maintain loan quality standards
- Ensure loans meet investor requirements and adhere to risk tolerance guidelines
Compliance & Quality Control - Ensure compliance with all mortgage regulations and secondary market standards
- Maintain and enforce underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Oversee quality control programs to minimize errors and ensure audit readiness
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate, timely documentation
Financial & Operational Oversight - Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and economic conditions to inform strategy
- Support departmental planning, budgeting, and performance tracking
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve systems, workflows, and member experience
Pay Range: $132,960.84 - $166,201.04 per hour
