MidSouth Community Federal Credit Union is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our Lending Department in Warner Robins, GA.
A Day In the Life as an Assistant Vice President of LendingAs the AVP of Lending, you'll provide leadership and direction for our centralized Lending Center, ensuring our team delivers an exceptional lending experience while achieving the Credit Union's strategic growth objectives. You'll lead a team of loan underwriters, loan processors, and lending sales professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
In this role, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the Lending Center, monitor performance, develop talent, and ensure lending activities are conducted efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with Credit Union policies and regulatory requirements. Working closely with the Chief Lending Officer, you'll help shape lending strategies that drive loan growth, enhance the member experience, and support the long-term success of the organization.
Key responsibilities include:- Leading the daily operations of the centralized Lending Center, ensuring service standards, production goals, and operational efficiencies are consistently achieved.
- Coaching, developing, and supporting Loan Underwriters, Loan Processors, and the Lending Sales Manager to build a high-performing and engaged team.
- Monitoring departmental performance metrics, workflow, and service levels to identify trends and implement continuous process improvements.
- Partnering with the Chief Lending Officer to establish and execute strategies that drive consumer loan growth and support the Credit Union's strategic objectives.
- Exercising lending authority by evaluating, approving, or recommending consumer loan and line of credit applications within established authority limits.
- Ensuring Lending Center operations comply with all applicable laws, regulations, internal controls, and Credit Union policies.
What Are We Looking For?The ideal candidate will have:- Experience: 8-10 years of similar or related experience.
- Education: (1) Bachelor's degree (2) Achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree)
- Skills:
- Have extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature.
- Motivate, influence, and/or train other.
- Foster sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals).
- Have in-depth understanding and ability to interpret regulations affecting lending programs.
- Have extensive knowledge of consumer, commercial and real estate lending practices and procedures.
- Use spreadsheet and word processing software.
How is the Work Schedule?The AVP of Lending position is a full time role, working typically 40 hours weekly.
