AVP, Business Insights & Strategic Execution
Reporting to the Vice-President, Experience, Planning & Transformation, the AVP, Business Insights & Strategic Execution is a senior leadership role within the Client Experience Office (CXO). As head of the Chief of Staff function, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the SVP, Chief Experience, Digital & AI Officer, driving strategic priorities, executive decision-making, performance management, and business execution across the organization.
This role brings together strategy, analytics, governance, communications, AI enablement, and operational leadership to ensure the CXO delivers measurable business outcomes and remains a key driver of growth, client experience, advisor outcomes, and enterprise transformation.
What will you do?
Strategic Leadership & Execution
- Drive execution of the CXO strategic agenda and oversee delivery of key business priorities.
- Partner across Experience, Digital, AI, Technology, Data, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and business teams to align efforts and accelerate outcomes.
- Provide visibility into priorities, risks, dependencies, and executive decisions while improving accountability and governance.
Insights, Analytics & Performance
- Lead the CXO analytics and performance management strategy.
- Develop executive reporting, dashboards, scorecards, and business reviews that support data-driven decision making.
- Translate complex business, operational, financial, and client insights into actionable recommendations for senior leaders.
Executive Influence & Communications
- Shape and communicate a compelling narrative for the Client Experience Office.
- Support Executive Team, Board, and leadership forums with concise, decision-focused materials and strategic communications.
- Elevate awareness and influence of CXO priorities across the enterprise.
AI Enablement & Business Management
- Support execution and governance of AI initiatives, ensuring alignment with business strategy and measurable outcomes.
- Strengthen organizational effectiveness through disciplined planning, resource management, and continuous improvement.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team while fostering collaboration and inclusion.
What you’ll need to succeed?
- 10+ years of leadership experience in strategy, business management, consulting, transformation, analytics, operations, or related disciplines.
- Proven success supporting senior executives and driving enterprise-wide initiatives in complex, matrixed organizations.
- Strong experience in strategic execution, business performance management, governance, and executive reporting.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Experience presenting to executive leadership teams, boards, or governance committees.
- Strong business, financial, operational, and analytical acumen.
- Experience working across Digital, AI, Technology, Data, Operations, Finance, and customer-focused functions.
- Demonstrated people leadership and talent development experience.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
