Primary Operational Objectives:The Avionics Supervisor will be responsible for the supervisory functions of the Avionics team, as well as performing installation & maintenance of avionics/electronics systems on general aviation/corporate aircraft.
Essential Job Functions:- Responsible to supervise, lead, and mentor the Avionics team by communicating direct areas of accountability and expected performance.
- Act as point of contact for interdepartmental communications and ensure day-to-day operations for the department are completed efficiently and efficiently.
- Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshoot malfunctions of aircraft avionics and electrical systems components in accordance with MFG specifications and FAA guidelines.
- This job function includes support of the following avionics systems:
- Transponder/ADS-B/DME
- WAAS GPS/FMS
- Airborne Navigation & Communication systems
- Weather Radar/XM Weather
- Autopilots & Compass systems
- Audio distribution & integration systems
- Inflight Connectivity
- This position involves working with avionics equipment from the following OEMs:
- Garmin
- Collins Aerospace
- Honeywell
- Universal Avionics
- Starlink
- Gogo
- The FAA Part 145 CRS environment will involve supporting the following aircraft types:
- Textron (Cessna, Hawker, Beechcraft)
- Pilatus
- Bombardier (Learjet, Challenger)
- Gulfstream
- Cirrus
- Communicate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure effective scheduling and coordination of work between related departments; as well as taking prompt corrective action where necessary.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships by providing information relating to current work orders and other recommended avionics services available.
- Complete all checklists, forms and reports as required in accordance with the company, government, and FAA regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain adequate knowledge to understand and follow the repair facility's Inspection Procedures Manual.
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company team members, vendors, and customers.
- Responsible to follow and comply with all safety rules and regulations.
- Must be able to work hours as directed by your supervisor.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:- Degree or certificate from an accredited two (2) year college, university or technical school in avionics maintenance or electronics required or equivalent experience
- 8-10 years of experience with GA/Corporate aircraft; supervisory experience
- Knowledge of aircraft component repair
- Knowledge of avionics, electronic and electrical test equipment
- Knowledge of U.S. government regulations for federal contractors and FAA maintenance programs
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A&P License a plus
- Repairman Certificate a plus
- FCC General Radiotelephone License
Physical Demands:- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling required.
- Frequent work in small spaces, extreme temperatures, and heights above six feet, noisy environments and flying.
- Frequent work with products, material and chemicals associated with aircraft maintenance.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
