About the Role The Aircraft Maintenance Manager will provide day-to-day leadership of maintenance personnel, coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, manage aircraft inspections and repairs, and ensure the team has the resources, training, and technical support necessary to maintain mission-ready aircraft.
What You'll Be Doing- Lead and oversee all aircraft maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
- Manage aircraft inspections, maintenance, repairs, and major overhaul activities.
- Plan and schedule routine and unscheduled maintenance requirements to support aircraft availability and operational needs.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable FAA regulations, technical requirements, company procedures, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with aviation parts suppliers and vendors to source required parts, equipment, and maintenance materials.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of maintenance performed on each aircraft.
- Lead, train, and supervise aircraft maintenance personnel, ensuring employees have the appropriate skills, qualifications, and knowledge to perform assigned work.
- Develop, implement, and maintain maintenance procedures and standards designed to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with environmental and safety requirements.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to minimize aircraft downtime and maintain operational availability.
- Monitor maintenance performance, identify trends or recurring issues, and implement corrective actions as appropriate.
- Ensure required training is completed within established timelines.
- Consistently deliver quality work while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For- Demonstrated experience in an aircraft maintenance leadership or management role and Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance operations, inspection requirements, and maintenance documentation.
- Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, aircraft maintenance practices, and applicable procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience in aviation maintenance environment preferable on large commercial aircraft (Boeing 737) and/or under a DCMA 8210 Oversite
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with employees, leadership, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and respond to changing operational requirements on short notice.
- Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment medical physical pursuant to DCMA Instruction 8610.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience.
- Experience supporting federal installations or working within the government contracting environment preferred.
- Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands & Work Environment- Must be able to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing for extended periods.
- Must have sufficient visual acuity and hearing to inspect aircraft and equipment, identify defects, and recognize potential operational or mechanical concerns.
- Work is performed in a combination of office, hangar, flight line, and field environments. Must be able to safely navigate active work areas, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shifts as necessary to meet operational and mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
