AV Support Engineer II
Job Description
Role Description:
The AV Support Engineer II supports the daily operation, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audiovisual systems across training spaces, executive meeting rooms, and corporate event environments. This role works closely with senior AV staff to help ensure meeting spaces and technology are fully operational while delivering excellent customer service to employees, executives, and guests.
This position is well suited for someone who is looking to build a career in audiovisual technology, videowall systems, conferencing platforms, and low-voltage infrastructure.
This position is in Richmond, VA and is in office Monday through Friday with travel (up to 40%).
Responsibilities:
AV Operations
- Assist with the setup, testing, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment for meetings, training sessions, and corporate events.
- Supportdisplays, videowalls, microphones, speakers, cameras, and control systems.
- Perform daily room readiness checks to ensure conference rooms are operational and meeting ready.
- Provide first-level troubleshooting for AV and collaboration technology issues.
- Support Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and video conferencing platforms.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior technicians or engineers.
Executive & Conference Room Support
- Provide white-glove support for executive meetings and presentations.
- Assist presenters with content sharing, audio, video, and room technology.
- Ensure executive conference rooms are fully functional and professionally maintained.
- Support special meetings, board meetings, and company town halls.
Videowall & Digital Signage Support
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining LED videowalls and digital signage systems.
- Support content updates and basic troubleshooting of media players.
- Report hardware or content issues to senior AV staff.
Preventative Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections of AV equipment and meeting spaces.
- Maintain equipment inventory and asset tracking records.
- Assist with cable management and workspace organization.
- Help maintain clean and organized AV storage rooms and IDF/MDF spaces.
Low Voltage & Infrastructure Support
- Assist with basic low-voltage cabling tasks.
- Support cable labeling, testing, and documentation.
- Help install and maintain AV connectivity equipment.
- Work with network and facilities teams when required.
External Events
- Assist with corporate roadshows, conferences, and off-site events.
- Load, transport, set up, and break down AV equipment.
- Support live presentations, video playback, microphones, and streaming technology.
- Provide onsite technical support during company events and executive presentations.
- Travel to supportMultipleeventsduring the yearand special projects.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person University or College
- A track record of commitment to prior employers.
- 1 3 years of experience in AV, IT, or technical support
- Basic understanding of audiovisual equipment and conference room technology.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar collaboration platforms.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move AV equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends in support of events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Extron systems.
- Experience supporting LED videowall environments.
- Familiarity with Analog Way products.
- Basic networking knowledge, including IP addressing, switching, and VLANs.
- Experience with low-voltage cabling and cable termination.
- CTS or relevant manufacturer certifications are a plus.

Salary: This position offers an annual base salary range of $73,400 -$97,600 based on relevant skills and experience and includes a generous benefits plan.
