We are not looking for a parts changer. We are looking for the technician who reads the wiring diagram before he picks up a tool, who pulls the data instead of guessing, and who fixes it right the first time so the car never comes back. If you take it personal when a vehicle comes back, you will fit in here.
What you will be doing
- Diagnose complex electrical, mechanical, and drivability problems and get to the actual root cause
- Work from scan data, wiring diagrams, flow charts, and factory service information rather than guesswork
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections and recommend the repairs the vehicle actually needs
- Complete repairs accurately and efficiently, to spec, every time
- Document your diagnostic path and your completed work clearly enough that the next person can follow it
- Keep a clean, safe, organized bay
What we are looking for
- Real automotive diagnostic and repair experience on modern vehicles
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Electrical is where most techs tap out. That is where we need you.
- Proficient with professional scan tools and diagnostic equipment
- Comfortable reading wiring diagrams and flow charts
- Working knowledge of computer controlled systems on today's vehicles
- Detail oriented. You verify the fix before the car leaves your bay.
- Able to work independently without somebody standing over your shoulder
- Valid driver's license
- Must have your own complete set of tools including an up to date scanner
Bonus points
- ASE certifications or other industry recognized credentials
- Missouri safety and emissions license
