Full Job Description
Newton Chevrolet of Russellville is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on General Manager (GM) to lead our growing dealership to the next level. This results-driven leader will take full ownership of dealership operations, including sales and service performance, team development, and customer satisfaction, while driving growth and profitability in a rural market. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for the automotive industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to build a winning culture, develop a high-performing team, and deliver outstanding customer experiences.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Proven automotive retail management experience, preferably as a GM, GSM, or high-performing Sales Director
  • Strong understanding of new and used vehicle operations, F&I, inventory management, service, digital leads, and dealership financials
  • Ability to grow volume without sacrificing gross
  • Experience managing and developing sales, finance, and service and parts managers
  • Strong used-car acquisition, pricing, aging, and inventory-turn knowledge
  • Ability to hold managers and employees accountable to processes and expectations
  • A hands-on leadership style with strong showroom-floor and customer involvement
  • Understanding of CSI, online reputation, and customer retention
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and develop talented people
  • Strong communication skills and a desire to become part of the Russellville community

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee daily dealership operations to ensure efficient and effective performance.
  • Drive sales and service growth by setting clear targets and coaching the sales and service team to achieve them
  • Develop and implement strategies tailored to the rural market to increase customer traffic and retention
  • Manage budgets, control expenses, and maintain profitability goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and the community
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the dealership team to foster a high-performance culture
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

We aren't looking for someone who simply maintains what's already there. We want a GM who walks in every morning asking:

  • How do we make more gross?

  • How do we improve the customer experience?

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in auto dealership management or a similar leadership role required
  • GM/GSM experience strongly preferred
  • Strong sales background with a track record increasing sales and profitability
  • Excellent understanding of dealership financial statements and KPIs
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills
  • Strong used-vehicle and inventory-management knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of business outcomes
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Understanding of rural market dynamics is a plus
  • Valid driver's license
