Full Job Description
Automation Application Engineer to join our team in Batavia, OH. In this position, you will be responsible for programming, integrating, commissioning, and supporting automation systems for injection molding machine applications while working closely with customers, equipment suppliers, and engineering teams to ensure successful project implementation and startup.

Work You'll Do:
  • Work closely with automation equipment suppliers and customers to deliver fully integrated automation solutions for injection molding machines.
  • Support integration, startup, and commissioning of injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and automation systems.
  • Program, optimize, install, and commission robotic and automation systems at customer sites.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and customer validation activities.
  • Troubleshoot automation, controls, and equipment issues in both plant and field environments.
  • Provide technical support to customers and coordinate issue resolution with engineering teams.
  • Train customers on automation equipment operation, maintenance, and best practices.
  • Document programming activities, commissioning reports, installation procedures, and technical changes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to automation standards, programming methods, and field service practices.
  • Travel extensively to support equipment installations, startups, customer training, and service requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree, technical certification, or equivalent automation, robotics, or controls experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, robotics, or related manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Experience supporting field installations, commissioning, equipment startup, and customer support activities.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 35% or more based on project requirements and customer needs.
  • Experience with Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa, KUKA, Sepro, B&R, Beckhoff, or similar automation platforms preferred.
  • Robot programming experience preferred.
  • PLC, HMI, controls, and auxiliary equipment integration experience preferred.
  • Capital equipment installation and startup experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing automation, robotics, machine builder, or systems integration experience preferred.
  • Customer-facing service, technical support, or training experience preferred.
