Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Audit and Investigative Manager - Boca Raton, FL.

Reporting directly to the Inspector General, the Audit and Investigative Manager serves as a lead staff within the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), supporting the University’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective governance. This role carries significant responsibility for planning, conducting, and overseeing audits, investigations, and management advisory reviews that advance the OIG’s mission and uphold professional standards of practice.

The Audit and Investigative Manager ensures that all assigned projects are executed efficiently, thoroughly, and in accordance with established methodologies, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies. The position contributes to the development and implementation of special studies, performs complex data analyses, and provides authoritative interpretation of OIG policies and procedures. In the absence of the Inspector General—and when delegated—the individual may assume designated IG responsibilities to maintain continuity of operations and decision-making within the office.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the IG and performs that positions duties in the absence of the IG as requested.

  • Responsible for performing audit and investigative fieldwork, management advisory/consulting services and other duties to implement the annual work plan.

  • Ensures effective and efficient performance of projects as assigned by the IG utilizing a disciplined systematic methodology and professional standards.

  • Performs periodic post project assessment of implementation status in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Assists in developing and conducting special studies and collecting and analyzing data as appropriate.

  • Assists in interpreting rules and policies of the Office of Inspector General (OIG).

  • Performs related duties, as deemed appropriate, in order to accomplish the responsibilities and functions of the OIG.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience required.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor certificate.

Possession of related professional certifications, which may include (but are not limited to):
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
• Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
• Certified Inspector General Auditor (CIGA)
• Certified Inspector General Investigator (CIGI)
