Job Description:

Provide position specific audiological services including consultation, diagnostic evaluation and ongoing habilitative and rehabilitative treatment, services and education to patients and their families.

Join Intermountain Health as a full-time Audiologist serving patients across both McKay-Dee Hospital and Layton Hospital. This unique opportunity offers a four-day workweek with four 10-hour shifts, providing an excellent balance of flexibility and clinical impact. We are seeking a collaborative, patient-centered Audiologist with strong diagnostic and rehabilitative skills, and a strong preference for candidates with vestibular assessment and treatment experience. In this role, you'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional hearing and balance care while helping patients improve their quality of life across two dynamic hospital settings.


Essential Functions

  • Provide diagnostic assessments, habilitative and rehabilitative services to potentially all populations from newborn to geriatric.   
  • Provide timely documentation of all provided services and patient interactions according to current policies, procedures and guidelines. 
  • Appropriately and accurately bills for all audiology services provided. 
  • Provides education to patients and family concerning test findings and recommendations as appropriate. 
  • Stay current with audiology professional developments and literature. 
  • Follow all legal, HIPAA, ethical and compliance guidelines related to an audiology practice. 

Skills 

  • Provide appropriate position specific audiology services. 
  • Provide timely communication of findings and future recommendations to referring providers through the current electronic medical record system in use. 
  • Communicate as appropriate the test findings and recommendations to patients and family members 
  • Provide mentoring to audiology students in training 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in Audiology 
  • Audiology professional licensure  
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers 

 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Doctoral degree in Audiology 
  • Specialization in area of audiology as needed. 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. 
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. 
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. 
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. 
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) 
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time. 
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$43.09 - $66.47
