Position Specific Description Recruitment Number 25-236TO, Attorney (Program) I, SR-24 Step D to Step L ($6,043 to $8,273 per month)*, Kauai.

This position requires a current and valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle. Summary of Duties This Attorney position is responsible for providing legal advice, guidance, recommendations and technical support services to the Chief Court Administrator, Chief Judge, Judges and administrators of the Fifth Circuit Court. The position also may assist with handling the mortgage foreclosure and other specific case types under the Fifth Circuit's jurisdiction; and provide staff specialist services to the Chief Court Administrator which supports the initiatives of the Judiciary, the Fifth Circuit's court operations and programs; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification RequirementsHawaii Bar License: Applicants must possess an active license to practice law in all courts of the State of Hawaii. Applicants who have an INACTIVE license may apply, however, verification of current and ACTIVE license is required upon selection.
Education Requirement: Graduation from an accredited school of law.
General Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of work experience which demonstrated the satisfactory performance of duties in one or more of the following areas (or the equivalent): legal research and writing; litigation; review of and drafting of legislation; review of new laws for impact on court requirements; or development of policies and procedures, and legal forms to implement new laws.
Selective Certification Requirement - Driver's License: The incumbent in this position will need to drive to various locations to attend meetings and other Fifth Circuit business-related matters, therefore, a current and valid driver's license is required to operate a motor vehicle.
