We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an Assurance Senior Associate to join the Hospitality team in our Baltimore office.

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid, which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week.

YOUR TEAM.

This position will support our Hospitality Group. CohnReznick's Hospitality Industry practice serves restaurateurs, hotels, or food and beverage operators, with advisory, accounting, and tax services to support growth strategy and to increase controls and profitability through all stages of the business lifecycle. You will work on a team with other Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners. This team has a passion for what they do and a focus on consistently delivering value to our clients.

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Lead the day-to-day execution of audit and assurance engagements for hospitality clients, including restaurants, franchisors and franchisees.
  • Assist in engagement planning, risk assessment, and the development of audit strategies and work programs.
  • Perform and review audit procedures in significant financial statement areas, including but not limited to, cash, revenue, inventory, fixed assets, debt, and leases.
  • Coordinate engagement activities, monitor project status, and ensure client requests and deliverables are completed on a timely basis.
  • Track engagement budgets and timelines, identify potential issues, and communicate progress and risks to engagement leadership.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff associates and interns through ongoing coaching, feedback, and training.
  • Detail review staff workpapers for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with professional standards and firm methodology.
  • Identify accounting and audit issues, perform technical research, and collaborate with engagement management to develop practical solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, and exceptional client service.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the hospitality industry, including emerging business trends, operational challenges, and accounting developments affecting clients.
  • Leverage firm technology, data analytics, and audit tools to enhance engagement quality and efficiency.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities to deepen client relationships and expand firm services.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment that promotes professional growth, innovation, and excellence in client service.

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The successful candidate will have:
  • 3+ years of work experience in another public accounting firm
  • Hospitality experience preferred, specifically restaurants, franchisees and franchisors
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • CPA licensure achieved or eligibility to sit for the exam
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of audit software such as ProSystem FX
  • Exceptional organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills

In Maryland, the salary range for an Assurance Senior is $80,000 to $120,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
