Position DescriptionThis position would be faculty for TTUHSC while also holding leadership roles at UMC Health System Children's Hospital. Learn more on this unique tour of the Hospital. Potential for leadership role at UMC Health System as the Director of Pediatric Surgery.
Major/Essential Functions- Provide pediatric surgical and trauma call coverage at University Medical Center Children's Hospital 10 shifts per month. Shifts are inclusive of 24-hour Call;
- Provide up to 6 days of clinic coverage inclusive of follow up care clinics, surgical consults and outreach clinics;
- Participate in quality improvement activities as part of a multidisciplinary team;
- Educate and mentor surgical residents and medical students; and
- Engage in research and scholarly activities to advance the field of pediatric surgery.
Preferred Qualifications- ABMS Board Certified in Pediatric Surgery
- 3+ years of experience in Pediatric Surgery
Pay StatementCompensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website at https://app4.ttuhsc.edu/payplan.
Required Qualifications- MD/DO or equivalent;
- Completion of USMLE Step 3;
- ABMS Board Certified in Surgery; and
- Board Eligible in Pediatric Surgery.

Visa InformationTTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
