Full Job Description
Senior executive leader responsible for the end-to-end client experience, retention, renewal performance, and lifetime value of Humana’s multi-billion-dollar Group Medicare portfolio. Accountable for transforming Account Management into an enterprise value management function that delivers measurable outcomes in client retention, growth, financial performance, member experience, and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Ownership & Retention
    • Own retention, renewals, negotiations, and growth across all Group Medicare accounts.
    • Build executive-level relationships with key clients and proactively manage client risk and value creation.
    • Drive client and member satisfaction, including ownership of Client and Member NPS.
  • Account Management Leadership
    • Lead the Account Management organization, including Directors, Account Executives, and Consumer Engagement Professionals.
    • Develop a scalable service model, optimize organizational effectiveness, and enhance talent development and performance management.
  • Renewal & Financial Performance
    • Own end-to-end renewal strategy and execution for a multi-billion  portfolio.
    • Partner across Sales, Pricing, Finance, and Product to balance retention, growth, and margin objectives.
    • Ensure effective execution of plan builds, client communications, and enrollment readiness.
  • Client & Member Experience
    • Improve onboarding, service consistency, communication strategies, and overall member experience.
    • Partner with Customer Service, Operations, Digital, and Experience teams to deliver seamless service.
  • Growth & Scalability
    • Achieve client retention (90%+) and membership retention (95%+).
    • Expand client relationships, increase product adoption, and support growth opportunities.
    • Lead service model optimization, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Serve as the primary orchestrator across Sales, Finance, Network, Clinical, Operations, Digital, Marketing, and Product teams.
    • Ensure alignment and execution of renewals, pricing, network strategies, and Stars initiatives.
  • Strategic Transformation
    • Lead initiatives focused on client experience transformation, account management modernization, renewal excellence, margin recovery, retention strategy, and executive reporting.
  • AI & Digital Enablement
    • Drive adoption of AI and automation to improve productivity, client insights, reporting, renewals, and member engagement.
    • Partner with Digital, IT, and Enterprise AI teams to scale AI capabilities and build organizational AI fluency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, Medicare, insurance, consulting, account management, client services, or related disciplines.
  • 7+ years leading leaders and large, geographically dispersed teams and ability to develop high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated success managing strategic client relationships, retention, and growth within a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience overseeing large-scale portfolios with significant revenue responsibility and executive C-suite level client accountability.
  • Experience leveraging data, analytics, AI-enabled capabilities, and customer insights to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience balancing client needs, membership growth, retention, and profitability objectives-Moved this up from preferred.
  • 50%-60% travel required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Deep knowledge of Medicare Advantage, Employer Group Waiver Plans (EGWP), retiree healthcare benefits, and the evolving Medicare landscape.
  • Proven success partnering with large public sector, labor, and private employer clients.
  • Active health, life, accident license.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale business transformation initiatives while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
  • Track record of developing innovative solutions that improve the client and member experience while creating operational efficiencies.
  • Experience leveraging data, analytics, AI-enabled capabilities, and customer insights to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.

Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$165,100 - $225,100 per year


 

This job is eligible for a commission incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
