Full Job Description
Overall Position Purpose:

The Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Recruitment provides executive leadership for all undergraduate enrollment functions, including First-Time First-Year, Transfer, and International recruitment. This position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive enrollment strategies that achieve institutional enrollment, net tuition revenue, and student success goals. Working collaboratively with Financial Aid, Marketing & Communications, Academic Affairs, Student Success, Athletics, Institutional Research, and other campus partners, the Vice President leads data-informed recruitment initiatives, drives operational excellence, and fosters an exceptional prospective student experience while strengthening Maryville University's reputation, enrollment performance, and long-term financial sustainability.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Directly supervises leaders responsible for First-Time First-Year Recruitment, Transfer Recruitment, International Recruitment, Campus Visit & Events, and other enrollment functions as assigned. Provides overall leadership and accountability for all undergraduate enrollment staff, including managers, assistant directors, admission representatives, and student employees. Responsible for organizational planning, talent development, performance management, succession planning, and achieving departmental enrollment goals.

Essential Responsibilities - List in order of importance:
1. Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate comprehensive undergraduate enrollment strategies that achieve First-Time First-Year, Transfer, and International enrollment goals while supporting the University's strategic plan, enrollment objectives, and net tuition revenue targets.

2. Provide executive leadership, coaching, and performance management for the undergraduate enrollment team by establishing measurable goals, fostering accountability, developing future leaders, and promoting a culture of
collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

3. Direct all undergraduate recruitment operations, including territory management, campus visits, recruitment events, enrollment communications, CRM utilization, and operational processes to ensure an exceptional prospective student experience and efficient enrollment operations.

4. Utilize enrollment analytics, forecasting, predictive modeling, and performance metrics to guide strategic decision-making, evaluate recruitment effectiveness, manage departmental resources and budgets, and optimize enrollment
outcomes and return on investment.

5. Partner with Financial Aid, Marketing & Communications, Academic Affairs, Student Success, Athletics, Institutional Research, and other campus stakeholders to develop integrated enrollment strategies that strengthen recruitment, student success, institutional reputation, and long-term financial sustainability.

• Demonstrated expertise in strategic enrollment management, undergraduate recruitment, and enrollment planning, including First-Time First-Year, Transfer, and International student populations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of enrollment funnel management, territory management, enrollment forecasting, financial aid strategy, and net tuition revenue optimization.
• Proven ability to develop and execute data-informed recruitment strategies using
CRM systems, enrollment analytics, predictive modeling, and performance dashboards.
• Exceptional leadership and management skills with a demonstrated ability to recruit, coach, develop, and retain high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Strong financial and operational acumen, including experience developing budgets, evaluating return on investment, allocating resources, and managing complex enrollment operations.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, faculty, staff, students, families, alumni, and external partners.
• Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, solve problems, and make timely, evidence-based decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated project management and organizational skills with the ability to lead multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines and institutional priorities.

• Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, manage sensitive information, and represent the University with professionalism, integrity, and ethical leadership.
• Proficiency with enrollment management technologies, including CRM platforms (e.g., Slate, Salesforce, TargetX, or similar), Microsoft Office Suite, reporting tools, and other technology supporting recruitment and enrollment operations.
• Ability to travel extensively, work occasional evenings and weekends, and represent the University at recruitment events, conferences, and community engagements.

Required Formal Education: Master's Degree; Doctorate Preferred.

Physical Demands: Office environment with regular travel, evening/weekend events, and ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $185,000 - $200,000 annually
    • Actual compensation will be commensurate with education, experience, skills, internal equity, and market considerations.
