Job Requisition: ASSOC002020 Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Days Hours Per Week: 40 hour per week Hiring Range: Starting at $145,000.00 salaried The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law. Responsibilities: • Oversee the development and implementation of the hospital's budgets, provide status reports to the CEO, CFO and Board of Directors on budget variances and recommend appropriate actions to be taken to correct unfavorable variances. • Develop and implement KPI, benchmarking and regular performance reporting on medical practice operations (primary care and specialty care clinics) of the health care organization. • Oversight of revenue cycle operations and 3rd party payor relations with emphasis on medical practice operations. • Oversee preparation of capital budgets and approve the financial feasibility of capital expenditures. • Develops and maintains sounds accounting and financial reporting systems, which will include budget coordination, monitoring, internal control, and financial information and information flow from hospital functions and respective clinical departments. • Responsible for monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including consolidated financial statements and comparative analysis as well as financial reporting for affiliated joint ventures. • Lead the development and execution of financial plans and productivity benchmarks, collaborating with department managers to track performance and drive attainment of financial goals. • Lead annual operating and multi-year capital budgets development. Develop complex financial models, ROI analyses, and business cases for new service lines or technology investments. • Partner directly with clinical leaders to improve resource utilization, monitor staffing metrics, and maintain cost-efficiency without compromising care quality. • Continuously tracks enterprise-wide cash inflows (e.g., insurance reimbursements, patient payments) and outflows to construct precise, decision-oriented cash forecasts. • Analyzes internal data and financial trends. Assesses financial risks and establishes and monitors risk mitigation plans, financial performance and maintenance of financial plans and forecasts. • Overall responsibility for the general accounting, patient business services, including third-party reimbursement, financial, and statistical reporting functions of the hospital in accordance with established policies and accounting procedures. • Provides formal or informal direction in patient access, patient financial services, material management and medical records functions. • Assists the CFO in the development of long and short-range hospital operations plans that may include service demand analyses, resources availability analyses and cost benefit analyses of proposed capital and staff expansions. • Oversees monthly budget variance analyses and budget accountability process. • Assures the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports and assures that the reports reliably reflect the financial position of the hospital. • Assumes a lead role in analyzing and exploring means of reducing hospital operating costs and increasing revenues based on knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies, market trends, financial reports, and operating procedures. • Complete annual and probationary evaluations and required associate job competency documentation. • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with hospital policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. • Responsible for managing the review and approval of the timekeeping system, including but not limited to, time off requests, and bi-weekly payroll sign-off. Responsible for managing staff meal breaks to be in compliance with NYS labor law. Additional Responsibilities: • Other duties as assigned. Master's degree (MBA, MHA) preferred. • Minimum eight (8) years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 3-5 years specifically in hospital or health system setting, specifically with medical practice operations. Certifications / Licensure: • Preferred Credential(s): Accountant credentialed from the New York Board for Public Accountancy. Valid NYS CPA or FHFMA certification preferred.
