Full Job Description
Excellent opportunity for a mixed animal practitioner in southwest Missouri!
  • Multi-generational, highly collaborative, team-based approach
  • True mixed-animal medicine with ample learning opportunities
  • Client relationships built on trust and mutual respect

Animal Clinic of Monett (Monett, MO) When you envision a traditional rural practice that serves as the foundation for pet and livestock care in its community, think about the Animal Clinic of Monett! In true James Herriot fashion, fill your days with a dynamic mix of species, cases, and clients. Yet, unlike Dr. Herriot, you'll practice with modern technology and a full support team around you! And when you're not at work-experience all that the Ozark Plateau has to offer!

Dr. John Harper (Missouri '88) joined ACM in 1994 and is easily recognized by his signature cowboy hat and boots. A versatile mixed animal practitioner, he is especially skilled in small animal orthopedic surgery and loves caring for horses and cattle.

Dr. John Tyra (Mississippi State '10) joined ACM after graduating. Raised on a farm in Guntown, Mississippi, he specializes in beef and dairy production medicine and bovine reproduction - and is now stepping into the practice leadership role Dr. Ted built, continuing ACM's commitment to a highly collaborative team.

Dr. Rachael Kluppel (Mississippi State '26) joined ACM this year as a new graduate, bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm to the team as she begins her veterinary career. One to two additional new-grad associates are expected to join the practice in spring 2026, continuing ACM's investment in growing the next generation of talent.

ACM is in an exciting season of growth. As part of our partnership with Heritage Vet Partners, a certified executive coach has been working directly with our team to support strong leadership and a positive, forward-looking culture through this transition - an investment that reflects how seriously we take both our people and our clients.

Our technicians and administrative support team are especially strong for a rural practice - experienced, capable, and a real reason our doctors can focus on medicine rather than managing every detail themselves.

We believe that relationships are crucial for success and are truly blessed to have clients who are progressive, trusting, and willing to go the extra mile. We have built the practice on mutual respect and a shared desire for positive outcomes.
