Department Context:

The mission of the Corporate Information Technologies Department (CIT) is to leverage technology to enable IFC's strategic priorities and to support IFC's business and operations. By acting as the technology partner and business enabler, the department provides state-of-art information and technology solutions to support IFC's Investment & Advisory Services, Financial Operations, Treasury & the Asset Management Company. We work closely with the business to design solutions that automate business processes, help enable business responsiveness to clients, improve operational efficiency and organizational effectiveness, and manage risks. CIT aims to ensure that our solutions meet the business needs of users across a range of functions, including operations and corporate business processes, information, knowledge and learning, data and analytics, and more.

We are looking for an Associate Solution Architect to join our team. This role focuses on helping the department deliver well architected and design solutions that are high-quality, scalable, operational excellent, secure, and cost optimized and empower private sector operational staff, Investment and Advisory services teams, and sector experts to access, synthesize, and apply institutional knowledge more effectively.

We are looking for an individual who will bring expertise as an excellent solution architect with experience and knowledge of latest industry-standard technologies will ensure that our solutions meet or exceed expectations and deliver tangible business value.

Roles & Responsibilities
• Support the design and implementation of scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective technology solutions across cloud and on premises environments.
• Develop solution architectures that translate business requirements into technical designs aligned with enterprise architecture principles, standards, and roadmaps.
• Produce and maintain architecture artifacts including solution diagrams, architecture blueprints, design specifications, interface definitions, and technical documentation.
• Ensure solutions address both functional and non-functional requirements, including security, performance, scalability, reliability, availability, maintainability, and interoperability.
• Promote the adoption of reusable architecture patterns, standards, and best practices across projects and products.
• Lead technical engagements for defining, documenting, and reviewing solution architectures aligned with enterprise standards and governance processes.
• Conduct architecture reviews, design assessments, and impact analyses to ensure compliance with enterprise architectural principles and technology standards.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, constraints, and mitigation strategies throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Support architecture governance forums and contribute to continuous improvement of architecture practices and standards.
• Ensure solutions leverage enterprise integration patterns and technologies to support seamless connectivity across applications, data platforms, cloud environments, and third-party systems.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, project teams, and delivery teams to understand requirements and define solution approaches.
• Communicate architecture vision, design decisions, tradeoffs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Develop and deliver architecture presentations, solution demonstrations, and technical briefings to gain stakeholder alignment and support.
• Provide architecture guidance and technical oversight to Agile teams during planning, design, development, testing, and deployment activities.
• Support successful implementation of architectural designs and ensure alignment between approved architectures and delivered solutions
• Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and modernization.
• Contribute to enterprise architecture knowledge repositories, standards, reference architectures, and reusable assets.
• Recommend opportunities to improve technology performance, operational efficiency, reliability, security, and cost optimization.

Selection Criteria
• Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
• Demonstrated experience in solution architecture, systems integration, software engineering, cloud architecture, or enterprise technology delivery.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale digital transformation and technology modernization initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture and services across one or more major cloud providers, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience designing secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient solutions leveraging cloud-native and hybrid architecture patterns.
• Knowledge of enterprise integration technologies, API-led architectures, messaging platforms, event-driven architectures, and microservices.
• Experience with application architecture, systems integration, software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Understanding of identity and access management, authentication and authorization frameworks, and enterprise security principles.
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with modern application development frameworks, cloud services, automation, and infrastructure-as-code approaches.
• Exposure to Artificial Intelligence, automation technologies, and emerging digital capabilities is desirable.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions and architecture recommendations.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate alternatives and make balanced recommendations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills across business and technology teams.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in Agile and cross-functional delivery environments.
• Proven ability to influence technical decisions without direct authority and build consensus across stakeholders.
• Certified Solutions Architect (AWS/Microsoft Azure/ Google)
• Certifications in areas of SAFe Architect (ARCH) or SAFe DevOps Practitioner (SDP) will be highly desired
