Our Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) team is looking for an innovative and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Associate Software Engineer with an emphasis on Linux backend development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Work from high-level requirements and customer commitments to deliver innovative solutions and delight our customers.
- Work cooperatively with a team of like-minded individuals.
- Participate in reviewing specifications, designs, code, and tests in tight collaboration with other team members.
- Understand hardware and software interactions; collaborate with firmware and power system engineers.
- Participate in project planning and estimation.
- Follow and apply SEL Values and Principles of Operation.

Required Qualifications- B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented principles and concepts.
- Knowledge and experience in object-oriented languages (e.g., C++, C#, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience in Linux.
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
- Negative drug test result(s).
Preferred Qualifications- 1-3 years software development experience.
- Familiarity with Git, CMake, and Docker.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.

Pay Range Data - $84,200 - $112,300 annuallyWe set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We are looking to fill this position at the Associate level, and we welcome applicants with a range of experience. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.

Software Engineer: $97,700 - $130,300
Lead Software Engineer: $115,300 - $153,700
