US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED

Position Responsibilities
Assisting in designing, prototyping, and documenting technologies for application in SEL products or solutions.
Assist engineers in research and writing new ideas and functional specifications.
Analyze competitor products.
Participate in the development of application notes, white papers, technical reports, and conference and journal papers on innovative applications or ideas.
Protect SEL intellectual property by writing patent and copyright applications.
Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related, or equivalent experience
Knowledge in one of the following areas:
-- Power systems:
-- Knowledge of power system analysis, power system protection, and power system stability
-- Experience with EMTP, load flow, and short circuit studies
-- Experience with digital signal processing
-- Computer engineering:
-- Experience with object oriented programming, C, C++, C#, etc.
-- Experience with embedded software design
-- Simulation programming
-- Digital design with microprocessors
-- Digital communications and signal processing
Demonstrated excellent writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Willing to travel up to 25%

Pay Range Data

We anticipate filling this position as an Associate Research Engineer: $84,000 — $124,000.

We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
