We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and student-focused
Associate Principal to join our leadership team. In this role, you will partner with the Director of Education to oversee daily school operations, support instructional excellence, cultivate a positive school culture, and ensure compliance with educational standards and charter requirements.
Your RoleAs the Associate Principal, you will help lead the school's academic, operational, and student support initiatives. You'll provide coaching and guidance to staff, foster strong relationships with students and families, and ensure the school operates effectively while maintaining compliance with state and charter expectations.
What You'll Do- Partner with the Director of Education to oversee daily school operations and serve as the school leader in their absence
- Supervise, coach, evaluate, and support instructional and administrative staff
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, employee development, licensing, and performance management
- Ensure compliance with charter contract requirements, Wisconsin DPI regulations, and school policies
- Lead initiatives that promote a positive school culture, student engagement, attendance, and behavior
- Oversee student scheduling and assist with discipline and student support services
- Analyze academic and operational data to support school improvement efforts
- Coordinate and facilitate professional development for staff
- Build strong partnerships with students, families, Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS), and community partners
- Serve as a Local Education Agency (LEA) representative during IEP meetings and student discipline hearings
- Attend leadership meetings, trainings, and professional development activities
- Fulfill all mandated reporter responsibilities
What We're Looking For- Master's degree in education from an accredited college or university
- Valid Wisconsin DPI License 5010 (Director of Instruction) or 5051 (Principal)
- Minimum three (3) years of elementary or middle school administrative experience
- Minimum five (5) years of classroom teaching experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred (Not Required)
- Strong instructional leadership and staff development experience
- Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to analyze data and implement continuous improvement strategies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and educational technology
- Must successfully pass all required background checks
Work EnvironmentWork is primarily performed within a school setting, with occasional local travel for meetings, trainings, and community events. Some evening or weekend hours may be required based on school activities and operational needs.

$87,717.84 to $98,837.55
