Job Description:

Reporting to the site logistics manager, the associate logistics manager is a key position enabling successful execution of logistics strategies necessary for providing exceptional customer service both internal to the Mars network and externally to our customers. The position is responsible for executing inbound and outbound operations supporting the Mattoon manufacturing facility. Included in is directing the leads and associates in receiving, line take away, and warehousing in order to optimize all logistics assets at the site. Managing safety, continuous improvement, productivity, customer order management, yard movement, and shipment quality are in scope for this position.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS / BA Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field
  • 2+ years' experience in Logistics or Supply Chain Management can be substituted for education
  • 2+ years managing people
  • Experience with SAP, JDA/BY or WMS ,ISO, Quality Management Systems, Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, coach, motivate and lead a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to drive positive change in both processes, systems, and culture
  • Strong internal and external customer focus with great follow up
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Nexus)
  • Ability to transfer procedures and training experiences to others
  • Flexibility to adapt to regularly changing priorities and quality issues


What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 20-25 associates
  • Direct day to day activities of warehouse operations and yard spotting teams ensuring all customer and RDC shipments are loaded safely, efficiently, on time, and in a quality manner.
  • Direct day to day activities of Inbound and product sampling teams to ensure they are following agreed procedures and meeting the needs of the business.
  • Develops and maintains root cause corrective action procedures including trend analysis resulting in driving process improvements
  • Maintain daily staffing plans including contingency plans for time sensitive operations (unscheduled absentees, customer issues, system malfunctions, equipment issues, etc.)
  • Support site traceability, MQM, and HRCI compliance
  • Meet or exceed performance targets (Inbound quality and production impacts, on time loading, associate pallets/hour, CCMS quality)
  • Lead teams to ensure process adherence to systems such as SAP, RP, and JDA.
  • Support management of forklift fleet used by IB and OB operations.
  • Support other site responsibilities as necessary.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range listed is applicable to IL:USD 71,207.00 - USD 97,910.00
