About this roleTeam OverviewThis team is part of the Global Alternatives Transaction Services team within Business Operations. The core focus of the team is to: (1) support private asset settlements and lifecycle activity, (2) manage BlackRock's investment book of record ("IBOR") related to our alternatives platform, and (3) make this data available to downstream stakeholders. Our alternative investment capabilities are fully integrated into BlackRock, allowing investment teams to capitalize on the firm's considerable resources in areas such as risk management, product development, client service, and operational support.
Role Responsibilities- Demonstrate product and functional knowledge of the alternative investments industry to communicate effectively with the business and trading counterparties.
- Help lead the settlement process for private assets, fund of funds, and loans (including funding and documentation matters), and support ongoing lifecycle activity to maintain BlackRock's investment book of record ("IBOR").
- Interact with Portfolio Management, NAV Oversight, Client Servicing/Reporting, Legal, and Tax teams as needed to develop and enhance operating models for alternative asset strategies.
- Support the onboarding of new alternative mandates, including informing and implementing processes for investment/trade lifecycle management, cash management, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Develop an understanding of all applicable portfolios and deal-related documentation to ensure controls and adherence to guidelines. Identify risk areas and implement or improve risk-mitigating controls.
- Collaborate closely with external Administrative Agents, third party fund managers, and external counsel regarding transaction and trading activity, including AML/KYC-related items.
- Research and resolve discrepancies related to cash and position breaks.
- Understand the maintenance and distribution of loan documentation, including private and public amendments, restructurings, and voting requirements for settled and trade-date positions.
Experience- Preferably 3+ years of experience in consulting, portfolio management, fund operations, fund accounting, fund audit, or related areas, with a strong focus on private funds and private markets investments or the leveraged loan market
- Proven track record of leveraging technology and data-driven solutions to drive process improvements, with demonstrated experience applying AI and automation to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Information Systems preferred.
- Familiarity with the investment management industry; experience with private and/or hedge funds and various types of investors is preferred.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in a high-paced environment involving a large volume of high-risk transactions with a low tolerance for error.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, while actively seeking additional responsibilities.
- Outstanding academic achievement, broad-based work experience, and demonstrated leadership experience.
- Prior experience at an investment management company, fund administrator, or Big 4 firm preferred.
- Above all, the initiative and willingness to contribute beyond the scope of one's role to achieve team and firm objectives.
For Wilmington, DE Only the salary range for this position is USD$85,000.00 - USD$117,500.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
