The
Associate Electronic Health Record System Analyst -
Epic Prelude/Referrals supports the
Clinical Access Revenue System department at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center by serving as a critical bridge between end users and the Electronic Health Record team. The
Associate EHRSystem Analyst develops in-depth knowledge of the Epic system, analyzes business operations, and collaborates with clinical and business representatives to ensure system configurations align with organizational needs. This role contributes directly to the design, implementation, and ongoing support of enterprise EHR solutions.
The ideal candidate is a recent Computer Science/Computer Engineering graduate seeking a healthcare technology career or a Healthcare operations professional with revenue cycle or patient access experience with a strong technical aptitude.
Minimum $68,500 - Midpoint $85,500 - Maximum $102,500, Work location: Prefer a local candidate in Houston, Texas.
ResponsibilitiesStandards & Testing• Obtain Epic certification within 180 days of hire and maintain required certifications as assigned
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and maintain build and testing standards, including SME or governance signoff
• Follow IS division best practices and UT MD Anderson policies, procedures, and standards
• Assist with document preparation for system enhancements as needed
• Follow documented change control processes
• Perform testing to ensure solutions are technically sound
• Provide clinical expertise for build and testing standards when applicable
Build, Content Management & System Configuration• Implement requested system changes and projects in a timely manner with proactive communication to end users
• Maintain and troubleshoot Electronic Health Record build components
• Modify Epic content as directed by the project team
• Participate in system implementation and optimization efforts
• Analyze system configuration and enhancements with a focus on patient safety
• Perform low-risk or low-complexity system maintenance with supervision
• Complete routine revisions to meet established build metrics
• Provide clinical expertise for system design and development when applicable
Support• Assist with customer support and problem resolution activities
• Respond to requests in a timely manner while communicating expectations, ETAs, and deliverables
• Participate in after-hours application support and downtime procedures as needed
• Build technical and workflow knowledge of assigned applications to resolve incidents effectively
• Translate clinical communication into technical changes when applicable
Liaison, Networking Skills & Business Knowledge• Collect information related to potential system enhancements and workflow improvements
• Establish liaison relationships with customers and OneIS partners
• Collaborate with senior analysts to gain technical and operational knowledge
• Translate technical build information to clinical customers when applicable

EDUCATION- Required: Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred: A college graduate in computer science or computer engineering.

- May substitute required education with years of related experience on a one to one basis.
- Preferred: A recent college graduate or someone in a healthcare operational background with patient access or revenue cycle experience.
