About the roleThe Associate Director, Project Management at CG Oncology plays a critical role in leading cross-functional projects that support the company's evolution from a clinical-stage organization to one with scalable business processes, governance routines, and support systems for commercial operations. As part of the Program Management Office, this role partners with functional leaders and project teams to plan, organize, track, and drive enterprise priorities, including organizational readiness, post-approval initiatives, and other strategic projects defined by the company. The role requires strong project leadership, clear communication, disciplined follow-through, and the ability to create structure in complex, fast-moving work environments.
Essential Functions- Support enterprise transformation initiatives as CG Oncology evolves from a clinical-stage organization to an organization with scalable business processes and support systems for commercial operations, including organizational readiness, cross-functional operating model development, governance, process implementation, and post-approval project execution.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, including objectives, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, risks, decision points, and success criteria, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Facilitate decision-making, issue resolution, and problem-solving by clarifying options, surfacing tradeoffs, documenting outcomes, and driving follow-through with team members and stakeholders.
- Conduct scenario planning and support business case preparation for enterprise initiatives, including resource needs, operational impacts, timing considerations, implementation risks, and decision options.
- Maintain consistent meeting management, governance routines, action tracking, decision logs, and communication protocols to support effective collaboration, stakeholder alignment, and timely escalation.
- Identify project objectives, milestones, risks, decisions, and interdependencies; track progress against plan; and provide clear, timely updates to stakeholders and leadership.
- Assist in developing and sustaining scalable project management processes, tools, templates, and governance practices within the PMO.
- Collaborate with global and cross-functional teams on improvement initiatives, operational readiness activities, and other enterprise projects as defined by the company.
- Champion cross-functional collaboration to support strategic decision-making, alignment across functions, and coordinated execution of business-critical priorities.
- Drive communication and build relationships with cross-functional partners.
- Use sound judgment, influence, and negotiation skills to help teams resolve issues, align on business-critical solutions, and maintain momentum against priority timelines.
- Apply strong problem-solving skills to design, structure, and lead projects through ambiguity, complexity, and changing business priorities.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree in life sciences, business, project management, or a related discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 8+ years of relevant industry experience in project management, program management, operations, organizational readiness, business process implementation, or related fields within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environments.
- Knowledge of project management software, collaboration tools, reporting tools, and document management systems used to plan, track, communicate, and govern cross-functional work.
