The Associate Director, Operations Boundary Systems is a senior leadership role critical to executing our enterprise strategic initiative: aligning all manufacturing locations to a single, unified Manufacturing Execution System (MES).

This role manages a dedicated team of operations experts tasked with capturing, analyzing, and prioritizing the core functional requirements across our diverse global factory footprint. Beyond initial deployment planning, this leader will own the post-go-live training, support ecosystem, and operational adoption strategies.

As a key orchestrator of our digital manufacturing threads, this position acts as the primary conduit between Factory Operations, Digital Technology (DT), and broad enterprise program teams (such as SAP S/4HANA and Digital Product Lifecyle Strategy for our PLM of the future), ensuring technical capacity matches our aggressive execution roadmap.

Must be willing and able to travel 25% of the time (domestic and international)

What You Will Do :

Operational Strategy & Product Ownership
  • Requirements Governance: Lead a team of operations experts to define, organize, and prioritize the standardized functionalities required by our factories, minimizing custom site-level logic in favor of enterprise scalability.
  • Deployment & Roadmapping: Maintain and optimize the multi-year deployment schedule, ensuring sites are operationally ready for system implementation.
  • Adoption & Support Ecosystem: Design, deploy, and manage the long-term training frameworks and post-go-live hypercare/support structures to ensure seamless operational adoption on the shop floor.

Digital Technology (DT) Partnering & Capacity Management
  • Capacity Alignment: Partner closely with DT leadership to map capacity directly against operational deployment timelines and functional requirements.
  • Enhancements & Infrastructure: Co-author the roadmap for systemic enhancements, technical upgrades, and factory floor infrastructure requirements necessary to support a modern enterprise MES ecosystem.

Enterprise Digital Thread Integration
  • Model-Based Operations Alignment: Work in lockstep with the Model Based Operations Lead, reporting to the Director of Factory Enablement, to synthesize upstream PLM data structures and downstream ERP handoffs into the MES core layer.
  • S/4HANA Dependency Management: Actively partner with the global SAP S/4HANA deployment teams to map out, mitigate, and align critical data and process dependencies moving toward enterprise deployment.

People Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence
  • Team Development: Manage, mentor, and elevate a high-performing team of operations engineers, specialists and business analysts.
  • Influence Without Authority: Champion business process transformation by establishing deep partnerships with engineering, plant managers, and technology functions to drive acceptance of unified, standardized software capabilities.

Qualifications You Must Have :
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience within manufacturing operations, engineering, or technology sectors
  • Experience delivering large-scale technology deployments, digital transformations or organizational change initiatives.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Management, or Business Administration (Master's degree or MBA preferred).
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration
  • Understanding of factory operations and shop-floor processes
  • Experience with MES (Solumina, Siemens), PLM (Teamcenter/Windchill), or ERP (SAP & SAP S4Hana) ecosystems
  • Experience with project management and ability to manage complex project dependencies across large enterprise timelines.

What We Offer:

Medical, dental, and vision insurance

Some of our competitive benefits package includes:
• Three weeks of vacation for newly hired employees
• Generous 401(k) plan that includes employer matching funds and separate employer retirement contribution, including a Lifetime Income Strategy option
