This role oversees an EdTech team and collaborates closely with LDT leadership, Learning Designers, and Academic and University Partner (UP) stakeholders to deliver solutions that enhance curriculum development efficiency and quality, elevate the user experience, and expand EIM’s innovation capacity.

Operating within the LDT division, this role evaluates instructional technologies, guides the development and maintenance of internal tools and LMS-integrated solutions, develops instructional media standards and templates, and ensures educational technology platforms meet standards for accessibility, performance, and instructional quality. Through cross-functional leadership, technology stewardship, and continuous improvement, it strengthens EIM’s digital learning infrastructure and advances its mission to deliver high-quality hybrid healthcare education at scale.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the strategy, implementation, and continuous improvement of EIM’s educational technology ecosystem and roadmap, keeping tools modern, scalable, and aligned with institutional and programmatic needs.
  • Based on ongoing analysis of internal LDT needs and the innovation roadmap, set the EdTech vision and establish metrics that evaluate effectiveness and guide investment, development, or deprecation decisions.

Team Leadership

  • Build LDT team capability with respect to instructional media and technology.
  • Develop the EdTech team, fostering an innovative and solutions-oriented culture.
  • Work in a cross-matrixed environment to identify and serve the needs of the Learning Designers, University Partners, and other stakeholders.

  • Apply product-management principles to the EdTech portfolio, including discovery, prioritization, roadmap development, implementation, adoption, measurement, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement
  • Champion policies (such as AI and accessibility), supporting their translation into the edtech stack and training.
  • Oversee the administration of EdTech systems.

Course Templates, Media & Digital Experience

  • Lead the development and maintenance of master course templates, reusable instructional media, and design objects that ensure consistency, quality, and scalability across UP and EIM programs. Balance standardization-for-scale and customize-for-partner dynamics.
  • Establish instructional media and design standards—including video, interactive, and multimedia components—and guide implementation in partnership with the LDT team.
  • Direct the development, adoption, and maintenance of internal tools and LMS-integrated solutions.
  • Ensure platforms meet standards for accessibility, performance, and instructional quality, refining them based on analytics and stakeholder feedback.

Innovation & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Expand EIM’s innovation capacity by exploring emerging technologies—including AI and automation—and recommending ROI-driven applications to implement.
  • Partner with EIM Business Enablement to ensure the LDT EdTech ecosystem aligns with enterprise technology architecture.
  • Develop adoption and change strategies for new technologies, tools, standards, and workflows, partnering with LDT leaders and managers to build awareness, capability, utilization, and sustained adoption.
  • Partner with Learning Designers and Academic/UP stakeholders to identify technology needs and systemic issues affecting course development, delivery, and user experience, driving cross-functional resolution and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience), with 6–8 years of relevant experience (Associate Director) or 8-12 years (Director)
  • Minimum 5 years experience supporting online courses in an LMS (Canvas, Brightspace, Blackboard, or equivalent).
