Full Job Description
The Importance of the Role
The Associate Director, New Product Commercialization is responsible for supporting the development of early commercial strategy and conducting opportunity assessments and competitive analysis to support emerging precision genetic therapies and technologies. The AD leads analyses to provide key commercial insights on projects from target identification and discovery through clinical proof-of-concept. This role also leads engagements with Business Development to provide commercial assessments of external opportunities and will serve as the commercial lead on select program teams. Working closely with Research, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Business Development, Medical Affairs and Commercial functions, as well as external vendors, the AD contributes to the early strategic analysis and approach to Sarepta programs and is responsible for presenting findings broadly across the organization, including to senior management.

The Opportunity to Make a Difference
  • Lead collaborative work to develop and refine market assessments to gain a deep understanding of the disease, the patient, how they are being treated today and the unmet need
  • Lead competitive intelligence efforts, including continuous assessment of the R&D landscape and synthesis of competitor insights to inform program and portfolio strategy
  • Lead the development of the target product profile with a cross functional team and validate the commercial potential of our profile through a rigorous study of key external stakeholders' perspectives on the opportunity
  • Serve as the commercial representative on select program teams, shaping program strategy and ensuring commercial considerations are embedded in key development decisions
  • Translate key insights from scientific experts (internal R&D colleagues and external opinion leaders) into clear, actionable strategies for the asset
  • Understand and communicate requirements for reimbursement, genetic diagnosis and differentiation required for the successful commercialization of new Sarepta products
  • Engage key external stakeholders, including key opinion leaders, prescribing physicians, patients and payers and incorporate their perspectives into the program development plan
  • Partner with Commercial Operations and Manufacturing to develop integrated forecasts
  • Provide support to opportunity assessments to inform Business Development opportunities, target selection and pipeline investment decisions
  • Collaborate with Research to identify new genetic targets for application of each of Sarepta's platform technologies
  • Manage project budgets and external vendors supporting market research and strategic analyses, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across priorities
  • Other related duties as required


More about You
  • BA/BS degree in a related field; 10+ years of related experience; MBA preferred with 8+ years of related experience
  • Prior biotech/pharma strategic roles, with a track record of accountability, urgency, and cross-functional leadership
  • Experience evaluating commercial opportunities for therapies targeting rare/ultra-rare diseases
  • Experience representing the commercial function on program teams
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize complex, disparate information
  • Proven ability to leverage deep customer and market insights to inform R&D decisions and develop patient- and physician-centric strategies
  • Experience leading or contributing to competitive intelligence (CI) efforts, including landscape assessments and synthesis of competitor insights to inform strategic decision-making
  • Experience managing project budgets and external vendors, with ability to prioritize resources effectively across multiple initiatives
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills across multiple functions
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment

This position is hybrid, you will be expected to work on site at one of Sarepta's facilities in the United States and/or attend Company-sponsored in-person events from time to time.

The targeted salary range for this position is $160,800 - $201,000 per year. Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges. The salary offer is commensurate with Sarepta's compensation philosophy and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
