OverviewAs an Associate Director, Media Finance, you'll be a lead on the Media Finance team, the finance partner to our media capabilities and clients. You'll be responsible for delivering exceptional client work, serving as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, and leading your team through complex challenges with confidence and sound judgment.
As a day-to-day representative of the team, you'll build strong client relationships and embody the professionalism, candor, and respect that define how we partner with our clients and one another. You will champion a high-performing team of Media Finance professionals, mentoring and developing future leaders while fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, and adaptability. With a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, you'll empower your team to think strategically, embrace change, and deliver results in an ever-evolving business landscape.
Responsibilities- Represent your client portfolio to Finance and agency leadership, providing updates on performance, risks, and key initiatives.
- Maintain current knowledge of company standards and industry's best practices, and coach team members to ensure consistent, high-quality work.
- Establishing a successful working process between Media, Media Finance, Accounts Payable and Client Finance
- Building trust and credibility with clients by ensuring audit compliance and prompt billing reconciliation
- Managing and holding media teams to deadlines, providing process and structure for junior-level employees
- Ensuring that campaign financial documents are correctly filed and updated according to compliance regulations
- Creating ongoing communication feedback and updating channels with other departments
- Assuming a broader role in key departmental or company initiatives while providing expertise in planning tools, procurement system, and process documentation
- Guiding and mentoring direct reports, offering performance evaluation, career advice, motivation and training
- Willingness to travel as needed - you're open to new places, new faces and new ideas
Qualifications- A four-year college degree and 6-8 years of experience in either online media planning/buying/operations roles, or a finance driven capacity at a creative agency
- Previous management experience (again, preferably in an agency environment)
- In-depth understanding of online media planning and ad-serving tools, understanding of the media billing reconciliation process, and strong familiarity with negotiation, implementation, and performance analysis.
- A stellar ability to problem solve, prioritize tasks, multitask, and manage time effectively
- Excellent communication skills - you're articulate, straightforward and, above all, you're thoughtful and kind
- Must be highly skilled in Microsoft office suite, with a particular focus on Excel.
- Expertise with MediaOcean offerings is a must, specifically Prisma and MBOX.
- Familiarity with prompt-based interaction and commonly used generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Google Gemini, DALL• E, Midjourney) is a plus, especially for tasks like ideation, research, or content generation.
