Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Director, Marketing Promotions role is based in the South San Francisco headquarters, reporting to the Executive Director Marketing. The Associate Director, Marketing Promotions will be responsible for the development of HCP and Patient personal and non-personal promotional strategic plans and the execution of results-oriented, highly effective marketing initiatives to support the promotion of Rigel products and support potential new product launches.

Salary Range: Premium (SFBA/NYC/Boston Area) $185,000 to $225,000

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead key elements of the marketing strategic and operational plan to achieve commercial goals for the brand throughout the lifecycle and in various disease states
  • Utilize multiple sources of information (e.g., primary and secondary market research, advisory boards, competitive intelligence, field force, etc.) to uncover insights and recommend adjustments to the brand strategy and tactical plans
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners to ensure promotional strategy, messaging, and brand standards are incorporated in initiatives to ensure consistent brand experience
  • Gain approval for marketing strategies and tactics through the internal review processes, ensuring that all activities follow regulatory, compliance and legal requirements and efficiently approved for promotional use
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators, regularly tracking and measuring the success of initiatives and tactics; adjust strategy and tactics to achieve KPIs, as needed
  • Understand insights, challenges and marketing strategy to address field needs for plan of action meetings and ongoing support
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Training, Legal, Regulatory, Medical, Market Research, Market Access and other key internal stakeholders to ensure collaborative efforts and continuous feedback loop
  • Effectively manage third party agencies to ensure their understanding of brand strategy and deliver initiatives outlined within the operation plan and budget that support core strategies
  • Manage associated marketing budget and project timelines
  • Attendance in the South San Francisco headquarters weekly for essential meetings and workshops with cross functional collaborators, promotional review committee, the management team and other headquarter based employees.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10+ years of biopharmaceutical industry marketing and sales experience with hematology, Hem/Onc or Orphan/Rare disease experience preferred. Marketing experience in Patient, Breast Cancer or Digital preferred.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to formulate, develop, execute and optimize strategy
  • Excellent project management skills including analytical assessment, timeline and budget management, planning, prioritization, objective setting, meeting management, plan execution, and performance management
  • Aptitude for creative thinking, problem solving, effectively managing multiple projects and ability to work independently
  • Ability to adapt and thrive within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent communications skills with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures, and disciplines with and without authority
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and expertise as a leader with well-developed influencing and negotiating skills
  • Strong presence with ability to command respect through exercise of sound business judgment and clear decision-making

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The anticipated salary range for this position is Premium (SFBA/NYC/Boston Area) $185,000 to $225,000. The actual salary offered will depend on several factors, including experience, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.

This position is eligible to participate in Rigel's annual bonus program and is eligible for equity incentive awards, subject to the terms of the applicable plans. This position is not commission-based.
